Some of Your Answers to University Life, the Neuroverse, and Everything Beyond
University life can bring a mix of challenges and opportunities that feel unique to you. My role is to support your journey by recognising your strengths and helping you develop strategies that fit your needs — all with respect, clarity, and without judgement.
What to Expect
If Bath F2F AS Mentoring has been named as your provider in your DSA2 letter, I will contact you to arrange an initial meeting.
The process typically includes:
Making contact via your preferred method (email, text or phone)
An informal introductory meeting to discuss your needs and goals
Ongoing sessions tailored to what works best for you, with flexibility to adjust as needed
Mentoring offers a chance to pause, reflect, and plan ahead with someone nonjudgmental and impartial, who will do their best to understand your experience.
Sessions focus on supporting you to manage university life and your unique journey.
How to Access Support
For Students:
You can usually access support through the Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA).
Apply for DSA
If you haven’t already, apply via [Student Finance England/Wales/NI/SAAS].
You’ll need to provide evidence of your disability or diagnosis.
Have a Needs Assessment
Once eligible, you’ll be booked in with a Needs Assessor who helps decide what support is right for you.
Ask for Specialist Autism Mentoring (Band 4 NMH).
Request Me (Claire Smith) as Your Mentor
If you'd like to work with me, let your assessor know. They can name me in your report or contact me directly.
I can confirm availability and liaise with the assessor if needed.
Once Approved
You’ll receive confirmation and I’ll be in touch to book your first session.
Direct Referrals / Self-Funding:
If you're not applying via DSA, you can contact me directly to discuss private support arrangements.
